So, how did you do? We hope you have enjoyed this post and Game. Please feel free to; Like, Comment, and Share. We want to thank you for joining us today.
With the Holidays upon us, it’s time to start preparing for house Guests. With Covid 19 being a prime factor, there will be more cleaning necessary during their stay. We will help you navigate by giving you the tips and tricks you will need.
First, we need to make sure you are ready to take on all the new people into your Home. Are you ready for a possible Covid 19 Carrier to stay in your home? Are you prepared to have them Quarantine in your home for 2 weeks if they do catch the Virus? How do you safely get from point A to point B? Does the state you’re traveling to require you to quarantine for two weeks on arrival? Does your home state expect you to quarantine for two weeks on your return? How many generations of family can one safely invite? And what are you going to do about Uncle Frank, who dismisses the disease as a “scamdemic” and won’t wear a mask?
If you have agreed that you can Handle all the above-mentioned Scenarios, Keep reading. If not, you might need to make some phone calls and get yourself out of Hosting this year. For the ones who are Hosting, Let’s dive in.
Preparing for houseguests doesn’t have to be hard, but there are some simple things you can do to make a big impact. The Host/Hostess wants Their guests to feel welcome from the time they arrive to the time they say their goodbyes. You will want to make a good impression from the moment they step through the door. An impression that your mother would be proud of you for making.
Things You Need to Do Before Houseguests Arrive.
Deep clean the bathrooms:
Bathrooms are perhaps the one crucial point in the house where all humans — and therefore microbes — pass through. So during the present pandemic, keeping your toilets, sinks, counters and showers as germ-free as possible is key to keeping you and your family healthy.
As you get ready to clean your bathroom, start by making sure to wash your hands.
Clean
Wear disposable gloves to clean and disinfect.
Clean surfaces using soap and water, then use disinfectant.
Cleaning with soap and water reduces number of germs, dirt and impurities on the surface. Disinfecting kills germs on surfaces.
Practice routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces.
More frequent cleaning and disinfection may be required based on level of use.
Surfaces and objects in public places, such as shopping carts and point of sale keypads should be cleaned and disinfected before each use.
Disinfect with a household disinfectant (Clorox Multi Surface Cleaner or Bleach).
Follow the instructions on the label to ensure safe and effective use of the product.
Many products recommend:
Keeping surface wet for a period of time. Normally between 3 to 5 Minutes is adequate, however see the product label for exact time.
Precautions such as wearing gloves and making sure you have good ventilation during use of the product.
If products on List Nexternal are not available, diluted household bleach solutions can be used if appropriate for the surface. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted.
Use bleach containing 5.25%–8.25% sodium hypochlorite. Do not use a bleach product if the percentage is not in this range or is not specified.
Follow the manufacturer’s application instructions for the surface, ensuring a contact time of at least 1 minute.
Ensure proper ventilation during and after application.
Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date.
Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. This can cause fumes that may be very dangerous to breathe in.
Prepare a bleach solution by mixing:
5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) of 5.25%–8.25% bleach per gallon of room temperature water OR
4 teaspoons of 5.25%–8.25% bleach per quart of room temperature water
Bleach solutions will be effective for disinfection up to 24 hours.
Alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol may also be used.
It’s important to focus on cleaning “high-touch” areas of your bathroom including light switches, doorknobs and the sink areas in particular. That can also include less obvious areas everyone in the house likely touches, including shower heads, shower curtains and around the toilet seat. That includes hair dryers, electric toothbrushes, shavers or other appliances in the bathroom. After you wipe down with (Clorox Multi Surface Cleaner or Bleach) hard surfaces like sinks and counter tops, make sure to leave them wet for 3 to 5 minutes. Then wipe dry using a fresh clean rag.
Clean all other rooms of the house/Apartment following the same Covid cleaning protocols.
Remember, A clean house is a welcoming one.
Next step is, Making the home Comfortable and appealing to our Guests. This is an Important step since we want our Guests to feel like Family. The steps are easy but could be time consuming, so start early.
Declutter:
The reason hotel rooms feel so dreamy. They’re stripped down to the essentials. Think of your guest room as a boutique hotel with slightly more personal touches. And remove anything embarrassing or personal—even a robe on the back of the bathroom door—from shared baths.
Write a welcome note:
A handwritten note shows that your guest’s visit is a delight, not an imposition. And it’s just plain Courteous. You could include soma facts about your area to include; local attractions, Parks, walking trails, Coffee shops, closest Grocery stores and Gas stations, Closet Walmart, and a restaurant guide. You could also include a Family Newsletter to keep them up to date with your Families happenings.
Stock the bedside table:
some well-chosen reading material would be nice(Short stories and magazines are great, as are easy-to-read, practical books), The TV Remote with a Channel Guide, Pen and Paper, some electronic wipes for their devices, a house key, the house alarm code, and your phone number. Fresh flowers—or even a festive table piece would add a magical touch.
You Can Always Count on Candles:
Set a warm, relaxed mood by placing candles. Not only will your home smell wonderful, but it’ll provide the perfect ambience for the holidays, too.
Make a snack center:
Bottled water, some soda or Juice, dried fruit, chocolate, microwave popcorn or popped corn in a sealed bag, some nuts, some candies, some snack cakes, and packs of Jerky. This will allow them to snack as they choose without interrupting anyone.
Set up a coffee/Tea station:
Some guests rise early, some stay up late. But no one wants to knock on your door because they can’t find the coffee filters. Make it easy for them to help themselves. You could arrange the necessary items in a basic or Plastic container. Be sure to provide; Coffee/teacups, Coffee/ tea, Spoons, Creamers, Sugar options, Honey, and some items to spice up their drinks like Liquors and syrups.
FIND SPACE FOR A SUITCASE:
It can be a fold out rack, a shelf, or even a closet. Whatever it is, make sure there’s a spot for your visitor’s bag.
CLEAR A SHELF OR DRAWER:
Some guests like to unpack a little to feel more at home. Even if they prefer to live out of their suitcases, having a clear shelf to put their smaller bags, books, etc. is certainly helpful.
MAKE THE BED look and smell BEAUTIFUL:
Luxury King Bed in an upscale hotel room
Make sure everything has been washed and that the bed is made up nicely. I like to use at least one lightweight and one heavyweight blanket in addition to the bedspread or quilt. It leaves options! Try to provide extra pillows and an extra Blanket. You can make them smell amazing by using a Lavender smelling fabric softener and dryer sheet. Little chocolate mints on each pillow is always appreciated as well.
PROVIDE A SOUND MACHINE:
Whether it’s a desktop fan or an actual sound machine, something to block out the noises of a strange house can work wonders for sleep. You could even get a mini waterfall.
PUT OUT FRESH TOWELS:
Make sure your Guests have a complete set of Towels that they can use. This includes; a Body Towel, Wash Cloth, hair towel, and Hand towel. Make sure he or she can find those towels easily.
Supply BASIC TOILETRIES:
Shampoo, Conditioner, Bodywash, a new Loofah or Sponge, Toothpaste, Dental Floss, Mouthwash, lotion, tissues, Nail trimmers and Emory boards, and Q-tips. Soft Fuzzy socks or Slippers would be a great way to show you want them to be comfortable as well. Keep them on hand and accessible. We suggest having travel size bottles or refillable bottles. You could arrange them in a Basket or a Plastic container.
ENSURE PLUGS ARE ACCESSIBLE:
3-Outlet Power Strip with USB Ports 5
These days, everyone needs a spot for device charging, and you want your guests to feel at ease. Having all the outlets hidden behind furniture is not going to help them feel like they have everything they need! They might not be beautiful but be sure to have a power strip or extension cord by the nightstand and/or dresser to make things easily accessible.
SHARE YOUR WI-FI PASSWORD:
Nothing says, “Make yourself at home!” quite like access to the wifi. You could write it down on a colorful paper and frame it in a little picture frame on the nightstand, dresser, or wall.
ADD SOMETHING FESTIVE:
It doesn’t have to be elaborate, but a little wreath, a set of bells, a pumpkin candle, or some fresh flowers can go a long way towards helping a space feel appropriately celebratory for whatever occasion has brought your guests to your home.
Add Night Lights:
Even though you can navigate your home blindfolded, your guests can’t. Make sure outside lights are working so they don’t trip on the way to your door. Put motion-activated night lights in hallways, bathrooms, and bedrooms to ensure safe passage after the sun sets.
Make the bathtub safe:
outfit each tub with a bathmat (to avoid falls)
Get shower caddies for each person to prevent an overflow of Hygiene products in the shower. They can store them in their rooms. you can find these at Dollar stores.
Hang up Loofahs on the shower curtain by attaching extra curtain rings to the existing rings so they hang from them. Or get another shower rod and put on the other wall and hang items there.
Make Space in the Entryway:
Your home’s foyer is the first-place guests see, so make a good first impression.
Place a small rug or welcome mat at the entrance to protect floors from mud and snow.
Clear out unnecessary shoes, umbrellas, and other clutter.
Add extra hooks to walls so guests can hang coats and hats. You could also provide rubber made bins for these items.
Add a storage bench where guests can remove boots and shoes. You could also provide rubber made bins for these items.
Stock Each Bathroom with Plenty of Toilet Paper:
Make sure your Guests can find the extra Toilet paper. You could put them in a basket or wrap them in clear plastic and arrange them on the back of the toilet.
Make sure the Plunger and toilet brush are clean and visible:
Clean the plunger well and make it available behind or beside the toilet.
Clean the Toilet brush well and make it available behind or beside the toilet.
Make sure Sanitary Napkins are available:
Have some Maxi Pads and Tampons in a basket or bag for your guests displayed under the bathroom sink or beside the toilet.
Have trash cans available:
Be sure to have some trash cans in the guest bathroom and bedroom with extra trash bags for your guests to use.
For smaller Guests (Children):
Provide some games, coloring books, outdoor toys, bath toys, and even some books.
I hope this post has helped you prepare for your Holiday Guests. After all, Guests are like Family and we want to show them we care about them. If this post helped you in the slightest, please be sure to; Like, Comment, share, and Subscribe via my Home page.
Do me a favor will you? Turn on every light you have in each room of your house. I want you too look slowly around your room as if you are searching for a Spider. What do you see? Do you see dust? Do you see dirty base boards? Do you see mystery stains on the walls? If so, that is what your Holiday guests will see. Mark my words! They will turn on every light in the room and slowly scan that room like a robot scanning for its enemy. When they find something dirty, that will be the conversation starter they will have when they talk about there holiday trip to your house. Embarrassing right? Well, have no fear. I can help you get that house clean in no time. Just keep reading and you won’t have to worry about old Aunt Betsy telling her Nursing home friends about seeing dust and dirt around your home.
Today we will be going over things in the house that we seldom clean but should be cleaning more often. I hope you will find this informative and helpful. So let’s begin.
We are all human. Being human, we tend to forget things. I am definitely guilty! I always forget to clean my brooms. Even though we forget these places that need cleaning, they still need to get done. So, here is my list of Commonly forgotten cleaning areas and items.
Here is a list of items that we really need to stop procrastinating over and just clean them.
Refrigerator:
Toss old containers and expired food, and wipe everything down with multipurpose spray. Soak drawers in warm water and scrub them clean with dish soap.
Garbage disposals take care of excess food waste in a pinch, but they can also be prone to mold, decay, and clogs. Give them some attention every week by turning on the hot water, pouring a solution of equal parts vinegar and baking soda down the drain, and running the disposal for at least 1 full minute.
Cleaning Your Garbage Disposal with Baking Soda and Vinegar
Maintenance Tip – Garbage disposal cleaning using lemon.
This is probably the last place anyone would think to clean. When really it should be the first thing that you clean. when you vacuum, you are picking up debris and dust from your floors. You should be emptying the vacuum accordingly and wiping it out at the same time. This will prevent the debris from accidentally shooting back out onto the floor.

As always, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning your particular iron. If you’ve misplaced the owner’s manual, check if the online version is available on the manufacturer’s website.
For sticky spots:
“Believe it or not, newspaper makes a great iron cleaner. (You can also use paper towels or a dry cotton towel.)
Start by turning the iron on to the highest setting (do not use steam) and run the hot, dry iron across the paper towel until it’s clean. If extra abrasion is needed, sprinkle a tablespoon of salt on top of a newspaper and repeat. To rinse off residue, run the iron over a damp, clean towel after it cools.
To remove oily substances:
To remove oil from the soleplate, unplug the iron and allow it to cool. Wipe the entire soleplate with a cloth dipped in distilled white vinegar. Rinse with a damp cloth. If oily spots remain, wipe with a cloth dipped in ammonia. Rinse with a damp cloth. Dry completely.
To remove stains:
To remove mineral deposits from the soleplate, apply a paste of baking soda and water to the affected areas and scrub with a damp cloth. Wipe clean with a wet cloth.
To remove mineral deposits from vent openings, scrub the vents using a cotton swab and some baking soda paste. Wipe clean with a wet cotton swab.
If the iron is leaving brown water spots on clothes when using steam, that means it’s time to clean the reservoir. Empty the reservoir completely and refill with 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar and 3/4 cup distilled water. Turn the iron to full steam and run it back and forth over an old towel until the reservoir is empty. If the iron has a spray option, spray until the water no longer appears miscolored. Refill the reservoir with distilled water and repeat to make sure all mineral residue is gone.
Whether they’re hanging or standing, picture frames are sneaky dust collectors. Every 1-2 weeks, use a feather duster to clear excess dirt from the surfaces. Be especially careful with gilded or textured frames. Using anything other than a gentle duster might damage the delicate finish. Metal frames, on the other hand, can be wiped down with harsher soaps.

Curtains
HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU CLEAN YOUR CURTAINS?
Curtains naturally attract dust and absorb odors over time. It is recommended to clean your curtains every 3 to 6 months. Having your curtains cleaned on a regular basis is a good idea to keep your house fresh and clean.
WHEN WILL A CURTAIN REQUIRE MORE FREQUENT CLEANING?
While cleaning your curtains every 3 to 6 months should be appropriate for most household requirements, we would recommend more frequent cleaning if the following factors play a role in your home:
Allergies
Curtains can trap a variety of common allergens including dust, pollen, mold spores, pet hair and dander. If you or a family member suffers from allergies, regular curtain and carpet cleaning should be a crucial part of your household routine.
Smoking
Smoke particles from cigarettes, cigars and pipes are easily trapped in curtains fabric. If you don’t want to make your curtains yellow or have a strong smell of smoke in your house, make sure you let plenty of fresh air in and clean your curtains every month if possible.
You live near the sea
If you live near the sea and specially if you have sea views, salt is not your best friend. Salty sea air can affect curtains as well as the windowpanes. Hard wearing curtain fabrics are your best choice under these circumstances, and frequent cleaning is a must. (Mr. Time Saver) https://mrtimesaver.nl/often-cleaning-curtain-care/

Pillows
How often you should wash your Pillows
Pillows, especially, should be washed at least two to four times a year (say, every four months) to help them last longer.
How to Wash Down and Fiberfill Pillows in the Washer
You’re in luck: Most down and fiberfill pillows are machine-friendly, which means you can just toss them in the washing machine for a refresh. Be sure to wash two pillows at a time to keep the washer balanced, ensuring an all-around clean. While any washing machine will do, front- or top-loading machines without an agitator (a.k.a. the large spindle in the middle of some machines) is your best bet. If an agitator-style top loader is your only option, place the pillows in the tub vertically to lessen the chance of them getting damaged by the agitator.
It goes without saying that you should always read your pillow’s care label and follow the directions accordingly. If you clipped off the tag or can’t find the instructions, use this step-by-step as your guide:
Select the gentle cycle and use warm water, then add on an extra cold water rinse and spin cycle.
Add a small amount of detergent, such as Good Housekeeping Seal star Tide.
Tumble the pillows dry on low heat, fluffing and turning them often. To help keep pillows plump, toss in a few dryer balls from Nellie’s. Remember: Since pillows take longer to dry than a normal load of clothes, musty smells may arise. In that case, set pillows in the sun for a few hours to get rid of the stench.
How to Wash Foam Pillows
Unfortunately, you can’t put your latex or memory foam pillows straight in the washing machine. While foam pillows are resistant to dust mites, it’s still important to clean them on a regular basis. As always, you should check the washing instructions on the pillow’s tag, or follow Forte’s cleaning method outlined here:
Remove pillow covers or pillowcases and wash according to the care tag. If you cut off the care tag, stick the pillowcases and covers in the washing machine, select the normal or casual cycle, and use hot water. Add detergent, such as Good Housekeeping Seal star Tide.
To get rid of dust or dirt on the pillow, vacuum both sides, or tumble in the dryer on the no-heat or air-only cycle for 20 minutes.
Spot clean any soiled areas with a cloth dipped in a mild sudsy soap solution. Lightly rinse with a damp cloth. (FYI, wet foam tears easily, so be gentle with the water and soap solution.)
Allow the pillow to air dry completely before putting it back on the bed or couch.
Window sills and Window tracks
It’s easy to tell when your windows are dirty, but windowsills and tracks often go unnoticed. Dust away any loose dirt and dead bugs (or use a vacuum with a brush attachment). Use a spray bottle of white vinegar to spray the area and let it sit for a minute. Wipe with paper towels and use Q-Tips for those hard-to-reach areas.
It’s probably a good idea to keep the places you store all your food and dishes clean, right? Empty them out (preferably one at a time to avoid unnecessary clutter), toss expired food, and wipe everything down.

Soap scum and mildew stains are haunting your shower curtain, but it doesn’t take long to clean them.
How Often Should I Wash My Plastic Shower Curtain?
Probably more often than you think. After all, you come face to face with your shower curtain or plastic liner on an almost daily basis. Ideally, you should be washing it once a month. At the very least, however, you should aim to clean your plastic shower curtain once every three months. When you think about it, four to 12 times a year isn’t really that often and the process shouldn’t take long at all now that you know how to wash a shower curtain.
Keep in mind that washing a shower curtain will help keep it free of soap scum, but mildew is another story. If you’ve noticed mildew on your shower curtain—be it plastic or cloth—don’t fret.
How to Wash a Shower Curtain
Method 1 — The Washing Machine: Wash your shower curtain in the washer using warm water combined with vinegar, baking soda or gentle laundry detergent. Note: Pick one of the three cleaners listed above. Do not use all three at once. You don’t want to cause a science experiment volcano or a nasty chemical reaction in your washing machine. Afterwards, hang your clean shower curtain back on the shower rod to dry.
Method 2—Handwashing: You can also wash your plastic shower curtain using baking soda and a microfiber cloth. Dampen the cloth and then sprinkle some baking soda on it. You’ll use this cleaning solution to scrub the entire shower curtain. After scrubbing, rinse with warm water and revisit any patches of soap scum or hard water stains that are left with the cloth and baking soda. Rinse again until you have a clean shower curtain. This process also leaves a nice fresh scent in the bathroom.
Remove Mold From Shower Curtain Naturally
place the shower curtain onto the bottom of the tub and give it a good sponge bath.
Pre-soak the sponge and shower liner with either hydrogen peroxide or white distilled vinegar (if you can handle the smell of the vinegar) and get scrubbing!
You can do the same with hydrogen-peroxide and get similar results without the odor.
pay more attention to the creases and lower third of the liner to ensure that you get it all.
Don’t forget to get in-between the folds and seams of the shower liner. Many liners have metal eyelets that will need some scrubbing where the liner meets the edge of the eyelet.
Sometimes, the soap-scum buildup is more difficult to get rid of than the mold and mildew. Either way, it’s all gotta go because the soap-scum buildup (cellulose material) is what the mold is feeding on.
After your shower curtain is mold and mildew free, you can hang the shower liner to air-dry or toss in the dryer (on low/gentle settings) with a few towels mixed in to protect the curtain from damage.

How Often Should You Wash Your Bathmats?
Sure, your bathmat probably feels nice and soft on your feet after every shower, but underneath all that comfort may be some pretty gnarly grime and not-so-nice germs.
Determine how much use your bathmat gets – The condition of your bathmat really comes down to how much you use it.
If you’re like most people, you are using it daily. If you share a bathroom with more than one person you then you have to factor in their daily usage in addition to yours.
You also need to consider the time in between each use where your bathmat can dry and air out. The more it is used and the less time it has to dry the more likely your bathmat has unseen dirt, germs, and even mold or mildew settling in!
Wash your bathmats accordingly – This answer to how often you should wash your bathmats can be subjective and a bit complicated. To make things simple, a good rule of thumb is to wash your bathmat at least once per week.
If you find yourself in a household that shares a bathroom between two or more people, then we suggest washing your bath mats every 3 to 5 days.
If you have your own bathroom, you may be able to get away with washing your bathmats about every 10 days to prevent mold or mildew build up underneath the fabric.
Minimize long-term moisture – It’s important to create an environment that allows your bathmats to fully dry.
Turn on your bathroom’s fan or open a window during and after showers. Why? Because adding a little ventilation to your bathroom helps cut down on the steam buildup, which can seep into both soft (bathmats) and hard surfaces, making your bathroom a tropical paradise for mold spores, bacteria, and other unpleasant things.
When you are done using your bathmat, hang it up! Exposing both sides of the bathmat to the light of day will help it dry more quickly and reduce the risk of mold and mildew.

The Germiest Thing in Your Wallet Isn’t What You Think It Is
The bad news is that you probably touch it every single day; the good news is that you can clean it. You probably know that the money you carry around with you can get pretty grungy. You have no idea how many people have touched it or done unspeakable things with those coins and bills, after all, so you probably handle that cash with the knowledge that you’re going to want to wash your hands or work through a wallet cleaning checklist soon. However, it’s not the dirtiest item in your wallet!
Credit cards and Debit cards are. You use them almost every day, probably without thinking of how many times you touch them and how few times you’ve actually cleaned them. One in 10 bank cards were contaminated with fecal matter, according to a 2012 study. Wipe the card with a damp cloth or anti-bacterial wipe, then gently scrub the magnetic strip with an eraser.

Plug the Holes
Many bath toys, especially ones that squirt water or squeak, have holes in the bottom which can be a target for water to enter and mold to grow. Place a dab of hot glue on these toys before placing them in the bath and you’ll create a water-proof seal on the toy.
Proper Bath Toy Storage
To prevent mold from forming in the first place, create a healthy environment for storing your child’s bath toys. Consider investing in a tray or rack that will allow the water to drain from the toys, leaving them close to an open window for proper ventilation or using fans and vents to disperse leftover steam from the bath. Anything that dries the toys out will help prevent mold from forming.
